Healing Dolphin

“During the dive, I felt like I couldn’t breathe — just like in the tunnels.” These are the words of E., who survived more than 490 days in captivity: “We were breathing the same air, several people crammed into a tiny, confined space. It felt exactly the same. I signaled to the instructor that I needed to come up. I decided to try again. I was tense, but then Nana, the dolphin, came toward me with her beautiful movements — and that was it. I simply let go. This is the magic that has been happening over the past year through the Dolphin Reef Healing Workshops, run by GNT at the Dolphin Reef in Eilat as part of the Lev Otef project. The connection that develops between survivors of captivity and dolphins is an extraordinary experience, offering a safe space, a sense of freedom, and an opportunity to reconnect with the body, with breathing, and with inner strength. Over the past year, 18 workshops have taken place, with more than 100 survivors of captivity and their family members taking part. Some participants have chosen to return again and again. Survivors of captivity and their families describe the workshops as a meaningful turning point in their rehabilitation journey. We are entering a critical year for the continued rehabilitation of survivors of captivity and their families. The cost of one workshop is ₪50,000.
