A Basket of Light

As a result of the trauma and loss they have endured, many families of terror victims, orphans, and widows have fallen into severe financial hardship, struggling to afford even basic food and, in many cases, facing real hunger. Every week, Ohr Meir & Bracha provides these families with a food basket sufficient for an entire week, ensuring they have essential groceries and can prepare a dignified Shabbat table. But “A Basket of Light” is so much more than a food basket. Behind every distribution is a warm, heartfelt weekly encounter that offers a listening ear, understanding, emotional support, and encouragement. The organization’s director, Mrs. Liora Tadgi, meets with the families personally. Together with the dedicated volunteers, she helps each family feel that they are not alone, that they are seen, and that someone truly cares. Everything is done with sensitivity, love, and dignity, so that every family can receive the help they need without shame or humiliation.
