COVID-19 Response

In March 2020, the first COVID-19 case was confirmed in Ethiopia, and NALA immediately mobilized against the threat. We formed a rapid response team with coordinators on the ground in five cities and their surrounding rural areas. We are currently providing the following support: 1. Construction of handwashing stations in health centers and busy areas 2. Provision of IPC materials (masks, gloves, etc) to heath centers 3. Targeted messaging via radio, TV, social media, and vehicles with loudspeakers 4. Training for community health workers and volunteers 5. Advocacy with local leaders and officials on physical distancing
