Olive Oil for Peace

Olive Oil for Peace is a ground-breaking economic development project that improves the Israeli, Jordanian and Palestinian olive oil sectors. In so doing, it increases the financial livelihoods of local olive growers and creates an opportunity for engagement and communication between the participants Israel has developed extensive expertise on olive oil production through dedicated agricultural R&D. Volcani International Partnerships is leveraging this experience and expertise by fostering cross-border partnerships to share the knowledge with olive growers in the West Bank and Jordan. The Olive Oil Project strives to improve the quantity and quality of virgin olive oil to enhance the socio-economic development of the local communities. The project not only increases the livelihoods of farmers and manufacturers in Jordan, the West Bank and Israel, but also strengthens cooperation and mutual trust between Israelis, Jordanians and Palestinians. To further expand the reach of the project, Volcani International Partnerships will soon partner with local farmers through the Sindyanna organization to sell olive oil produced by local growers, particularly women. Revenue of sales from specially branded bottles will go towards the creation of new workshops on a growing range of relevant topics.
