Campaign Mission Statement:
• To educate toward and help shape legislation, policies, public statements, and practices —inside Israel and abroad — that recognize Israel's legal right under international law to control, settle, and develop its land and populace; and
• To focus on the locales, i.e., in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, where such activity is met with harshest delegitimization, resulting in self-defeating Israeli concessions
Background
Legal Grounds was formed in 2013 out of frustration with two decades of post-Oslo diffident Israeli leadership and diplomacy. Our goal is to provide educate and enlighten law students, professionals, and public and political figures regarding Israel’s legal rights to the land.
The Campaign offers a course once a year for a select group of law students drawn from a number of Israeli law schools; it exposes them to issues related to international law and Israel that are likely not dealt with in their respective law schools. Each of the 10 classes features a different lecturer with specific expertise. The lecturers are some of the top legal experts on Judea and Samaria and Israel's rights to the land, the BDS movement, and other aspects of Israel's place in the system of international law.
