Building a Second Floor for the Shkedia Dormitory

By The Dr. Israel Goldstein Youth Village - Havat Hanoar Hatsioni

Giving More Young People a Place to Call Home

At Havat Hanoar Hatsioni, we believe that every young person deserves the very best we can provide - not only in the classroom, but also in the place they call home. A safe, respectful, and nurturing environment is an essential part of education, allowing young people to feel that they belong, believe in themselves, and fulfill their potential. For our boarding school students, the Village is much more than an educational institution. It is where they live, learn, celebrate, face challenges, and succeed - and above all, where they feel at home. Today, we have a rare opportunity to expand that home. We have an approved building permit to add a second floor to the Shkedia dormitory, allowing us to welcome 24 additional boarding students. The new floor will include modern bedrooms, private bathrooms and showers for each room, as well as a protected room (Mamad) for the students living in the building. In Israel’s current security reality, having a protected room within the building is much more than an addition to the construction plan. It will allow students to reach a safe space within seconds, close to their rooms, rather than having to run to a more distant shelter during an alarm - providing greater safety and peace of mind in the place they call home. Every year, young people come to us looking for a place where they can grow and an opportunity to build a better future. Unfortunately, we do not always have room for everyone. With your support, we can open our doors to more young people and provide them with a home, stability, security, and a real opportunity to build a better future.
