GIVING TUESDAY
By The Foundation for the Welfare Of Holocaust Victims
Help Holocaust survivors live with dignity
Ends: 23:59
This is your chance to help Holocaust survivors living in Israel!
Today, 215,000 Holocaust survivors live in Israel. Their average age is 85, and approximately 45,000 of them live below the poverty line.
Holocaust survivors suffer from specific problems that are with them constantly, ruining any peace they might have found and it grows stronger with the passage of time.
These are physical and health problems including emotional distress and anxiety.
Worst of all – they live out their days in loneliness, without family and social support networks which could help make their difficult lives a bit easier.
In 2017, we helped approximately 50,000 needy survivors, providing them with additional home care hours, a panic button service, and for the disabled – home accessibility renovations.
We also give emergency assistance, such as dental care, glasses, food vouchers and much more.
The Foundation operates a project run by volunteers who are in constant contact with the survivors, visiting them, and this helps relieve the long hours of loneliness.
While we work to enable Holocaust survivors to live with dignity, time is not on their side.
Every day, about forty survivors die in Israel. More than 14,000 die every year. We believe that helping Holocaust survivors is a moral-human imperative and even more so – a great privilege.
NOW, more than ever, is the time to help Holocaust survivors in Israel, before it is too late!
