Tzohar's Shorashim Project

How do we begin to search for proof that someone is Jewish? We ask their mother for the family history. Alexi came to Tzohar's Shorashim forensic unit tightly gripping his mother's hand. She was blind and deaf and unable to talk. The family history was lost in the silence. Alexi was adamant his family's tradition is that they are Jewish! Can we please help him find proof, pleaded Alexi. Shorashim interviewed other family members and slowly wove together the threads of Alexi's background. With this information we searched for the necessary documentation for proof of Jewish roots and presented it to the Beit Din. Today Alexi is marrying Christina according to Jewish law and together they are laying the groundwork for the next generation. A chain has been repaired, a story is ready to be told, a family is whole. We wish Alexi and Christina all the health, love and happiness for the future.
