20 years ago, a number of young families went up to settle the "Tal Binyamin" hilltop, (adjacent to the town of Kfar Tapuach) in The Shomron district, with the support of the Israeli Government's "Settlement Division" and following an official decision by authorities.
The Herzlich family was one of the first families in the hilltop.
Today, Tal Binyamin is home to 10 families, including many children.
"Tal Binyamin" is now facing an acute crisis - though there is hope for a solution which could harbinger even more life and development.
Three years ago a lawsuit was initiated by a group of local Palestinian Arabs with support from "Yesh Din", a European-funded far-left NGO, claiming ownership over the land upon which Tal Binyamin is situated. Despite having no proof to back their claim of ownership, nevertheless "Bagats" has ordered 'like in many other cases, the destruction/"dismantlement" of the entire community והורה להסדיר את אדמות המדינה בגבעה)
some of the homes are situated a few meters outside of the boundaries of State-owned land. This means these young families are now forced to dismantle their homes entirely, in order to relocate a mere 50-100 meters to comply with the ruling - all without any official assistance or other support to alleviate this terrible stress that has been imposed upon them.
the Herzlich family home cannot be dismantled and "moved," as it is a permanent structure which the family built with their own hands. As a result their home will be totally demolished, and the Herzlich family will need to build a new house from scratch just 50 meters away, to avoid being left homeless by the court ruling.
The families have agreed to swallow this bitter pill without resistance, in light of a pledge by the government to grant official approval to their "new" community - and build hundreds more homes. With God's help, from the rubble will sprout even more Jewish life than before!
, the Herzlich family raising the funds now to enable them to rebuild their home.
It's a race against time: in just 3 months the court order comes into effect, and if their home is not rebuilt by then, this family and their children will be left homeless.
The cost of building their new home is 450,000 shekels: the family urgently need just under half of that (220,000 shekels) to commence construction
With your help, we can continue fulfilling the Torah commandment of settling the Land of Israel, with official approval
