Green Apartments

Following the social isolation created by the corona crisis, we see a trend of people turning to home gardening as part of attempts to deal with the situation, relieve boredom, and the need to engage in something healthy and meaningful, therapeutic, and even potentially economical. Kivunim’s “Green Apartments” initiative is a similar solution to young adults with disabilities who live independently in the community. The initiative will provide training to grow and care for various plants in their apartments with the aim of developing a sense of ability, responsibility, self-confidence, calmness, and more. The ability to grow and nurture vegetation can be a valuable component in a sense of meaning, health, and resilience, especially in times of crisis.
