Soul Talk for the veterans

By Soul Talk

Together with you we will be able to reach more veterans and raise the awareness for processing combat experiences.

Ends: 20:00

Donors: 203

After four years of constant activity, we at Soul Talk need to expand our activities in order to reach and help more released IDF veterans. We are asking for your help so that we can carry out more trips to Eilat, therapy Sailing groups and more Breathing workshops. Three of our proven activities with a high success rate in helping ex-IDF combat soldiers to begin dealing with combat-related issues. We also want to expand our Ambassador Programme on Universities and College campuses and to find more time to expand our activities with youngsters before conscription in official pre army organizations. Your help will also go to helping us to reach young combat veterans immediately after their release (proven to be the most effective time to aid them). We aim to set up a Help center in Cusco,Peru in addition to our existing center in Dharamshala in Northern India where we meet and talk to young Israelis in their post-army trip. In addition, We will take more trips to Eilat - four days of experiential workshops where participants have the opportunity to swim with dolphins, practice yoga and especially be together and talk about things. Who am I and what is Soul Talk? My name is Sam Goodriche and I am the founder of Soul Talk, The Idea for Soul Talk began when I was in India. While being there I came across young Israelis who when we sat down to talk, told me that they had experienced things in the army that they found difficult to deal with.. I listened to their stories and told them mine. Most of them had never spoken about these experiences. I told them that I had been diagnosed with PTSD nearly ten years after leaving the army. I told them about therapy I was receiving from a nonprofit organization called Natal.. This condition was a result of combat situations from serving in a special unit in the paratroopers. I explained the importance of processing these combat experiences and the importance of therapy if needed. I told them about some of the organizations who work in this field. They listened and wrote down information. Some of them contacted the organizations or me when they returned to Israel and began the process. Meeting these people was inspiring. I understood that I can help and make a difference. And that's how Soul Talk was establish ….in order to raise the awareness and legitimacy for processing combat experiences. Our aim is to help released combat vets and others who have been affected by combat to take the first important step in seeking help. To develop an environment, where they will be prepared to begin the process of unburdening.. So please help us to carry on helping them . Thank You. Sam and the Soul Talk team.
