Chiburim - Now is the time for love

Returning to an empty apartment. Once again dealing with Holiday’s Blues. Getting a promotion at work but no one to share it with. Late bachelorhood is a tough journey to go through. It is something that strikes a chord in everyone’s heart. When Dr. Roy and Judi Stern established Chiburim in 2013, that was what guided them. Every person has the right to love and to be loved. We are here to help singles find their life partners through the support of personal volunteer mentors. We have been blessed with over 300 weddings throughout the years and the demand for love does not cease. The Corona year has been especially intense in Chiburim. The pandemic emphasized loneliness and deepened the difficulty to deal with it. There are to date over 2300 single members in Chiburim. They all needed us and we were there for them. No one was left alone by us. Through zoom events, face-to-face events, personal mentoring and a hot-line, we were there with our singles in their journey to find love. It was clear that this was an extremely challenging year for those who have to find their one. COVID-19 stressed the challenge of combating loneliness. We have seen an influx in single’s turning to Chiburim and repeating the words: ”I am never going to celebrate one more Pesach Seder alone.” We must continue to grow and to allow an immediate high quality response to any single person who turns to Chiburim and asks for our support.
