Summer Trip (Tiyul) for Ethiopian-Israeli Teens

The Ethiopian olim arrived home after generations of longing to reach the Promised Land. And still, many Ethiopian Israelis lack the resources to actually see and tour the beatufiul landscape of Israel. Help provide Ethiopian Israeli teens with an educational and exciting adventure during summer vacation. The summer break is an ideal time for teens to experience the profound beauty and history of Israel. We lead guided tours to northern and southern Israel to create lasting memories. These activities also serve to support the parents who, in most cases, are working full-time and do not have the means to take their children on tour. These trips give teens the unique opportunity to spend their days contructively, while having fun and exploring new places that connect them to their history. With your support, FIDEL plans to offer 50 teens (one full bus) with an overnight 'tiyul' to northern Israel during the summer vacation. FIDEL Youth Centers provide a home-away-from home to over 1,000 Ethiopian Israeli teens. The centers provide personal, educational and social support including academic assistance, sports and dance activities, hiking, computer courses, young leadership and more.
