Leading Israel for a Better Future

Israel’s growing population is putting our resources under immense pressure. Increasingly, we find that the social and environmental challenges we face are large and complex. Creating a better place to live in needs partnerships. Increasingly, government, business, civil society, and science recognize the need to work together to tackle the challenges of the modern world and bring about change for the common good. This is the core of our work at the Heschel Center: our ideology, the sustainability concepts bring a holistic approach of problem solving and a vision that includes a systemic view that combines between fields. Here are some of our successes this year: **We trained, empowered and motivated more than 1400 senior professionals in training programs, conferences and seminars. **We worked with over 20 Israeli municipalities in different capacities. **Through the Heschel Center’s Climate Project we created partnerships with government ministries, NGOs and the private sector to increase civic participation in government decisions regarding the biggest challenge of our lives – Climate Change. We also managed to influence decision makers to have a national plan for 2050 and allow Israel to transform to a clean, renewable and efficient economy. In 2019 we plan to expand our work: Establishing a leadership program for the next leaders of the industrial sector in Israel with the purpose of creating a more social-environmental responsibility among business leaders.
