Building a Better Future for Olim in Israel

Israel is a country of immigrants. Many of us know people who have left whole lives behind to come here. Some speak little or no Hebrew, and do not have jobs or business networks waiting for them in Israel. Though they work hard to integrate, at times they need guidance from those that have walked the path before them. At Gvahim, we are here to help. Every year, Gvahim helps hundreds of Olim face the challenges that come with making Aliyah. Key amongst these challenges is finding suitable, meaningful jobs. 90% of our alumni are successfully integrated in the business world and wider society, with jobs that are right for them and a growing network of business contacts and friends. With such a support system, they feel at home. This year, in light of the pandemic, there’s a significant and welcome growth in Aliyah—30% higher compared with previous years. Greater numbers of talented Olim are arriving in Israel, and we need to work harder to integrate them. Studies show that those Olim that do not find a suitable job in their first year after making Aliyah, are highly likely to return to their country of origin.
