Chasdei Efrat

Chasdei Efrat is the new unified charity fund for all Efrat residents. It brings together the former "Anshei Efrat Ozrim" and "Keren Yeshua". Anshei Efrat Ozrim began in 1983 as the Shapiro Family Chesed Fund, under the leadership of Rabbi Shlomo Riskin, Chief Rabbi of Efrat and Dean of Ohr Torah Stone. The fund focused on financial aid and over the years helped hundreds of Efrat residents. Keren Yeshua, founded in 2002, was the brainchild of Efrat resident Eli Mizrachi, who was then the Head of the local Religious Council and later became the Mayor of Efrat. Keren Yeshua successfully brought several local charitable services together under one roof, for the greater good of Efrat. In May 2014, the two charities were officially united into one body, Chasdei Efrat , whose aim is to help every Efrat resident in need get the help he or she requires. Chasdei Efrat works in cooperation with Social Services ("Revacha"), financial planning advisors such as Pa'amonim and Mekimi, and local rabbis, lawyers, and other professional consultants, as required by the case. All the board and committee members are Efrat residents. The organization is run almost exclusively by volunteers, so as to keep overhead as low as possible. Chasdei Efrat is a recognized Israeli non-profit and all donations are tax-free as per Paragraph 46 of the Israeli tax code.
