The Neighborhood of 'Maale Zeitim' is located on the Mount of Olives, and directly outlooks the Western Wall and the Old City. The Neighborhood was established in the year 5763 (2003) after years of struggling to redeem the land. But this small seed, which began the settlement, did not throw up its hands' and – with Hashem's help – the neighborhood continues to blossom. Over 13 years, we have reached 1000 residents. The verse 'The smallest will become a thousand' (Yeshayahu) has been fulfilled through US. The Neighborhood of 'Maale Zeitim' is the largest o the Jewish neighborhoods on the eastern side of the Old City. The community is an active one, which includes a Shul' Mikveh ' nursery schools and day care where approximately 120 young children learn, an active youth group, many Torah classes and a long list of activities and events held over the course of the entire year. In addition, there is frequent public transportation to downtown. We are now actively striving to place the jewel in the crown of the neighborhood, which is the establishment of the mailn Shul of Maale Zeitim, The Beit Ha-Kenesset – the first in history to be built on Har Ha-Zeitim, will overlook the spot of our Temple, where all eyes of Israel turn. The impressive building will be seen in the view of those who visit the Western Wall and will significantly strengthen the Jewish settlement in East Jerusalem. The Residents of the neighborhood established a non-profit organization 'Mikdash Me'at Maale Zeitim', which will advance the project. We invite the holy community to be partners in this great endeavor which includes the Mitzvah of building a Shul, the Mitzvah of building Yerushalayim and strengthening the Jewish settlement nearly and in sight of the Temple Mount.
