Seeds is a grassroots initiative dedicated to the empowerment of Arab women, as a means of creating a (بذور) genuine sustainable impact on the welfare and future of marginalized Arab communities in Israel. Agents of Change In today’s Israel, the majority of Arab communities seem to be stagnant when it comes to social mobility among the younger generation. This is mainly due to years of neglect, stemming from a wide range of historical and political reasons, which have led to a distinct lack of opportunities and a severely poor educational infrastructure. These communities have within them today an often overlooked yet extremely valuable asset in the form of the Arab woman. These intelligent strong women exist within a highly male-dominated society, skillfully managing their families and homes while often having to work full time in low-level jobs, earning minimum wage simply to keep ends meet. Incredibly brave Arab woman are seeking a chance for a better life – we intend on giving them the tools . We at Seeds believe that within these women lies the potential to generate a true and lasting impact. Given the right opportunity and skills to pass on, they could bring forth a paradigm shift that will fundamentally improve the state of the Israeli-Arab society from within, one community at a time. with the skills gained, these women will change their narrative, ensuring that the next generation of Arab kids will have a better future and a more optimistic view of life – Boys & Girls. Seeds Educators Training Seminar In order to achieve its vision, Seeds operates a bilingual and multi-cultural seminar for anthroposophy studies and Waldorf education which provides age-compatible, experience-based learning. It`s designed to identify the children special talents and help them realize their full potential. We believe that this approach constitutes an ideal platform for building bridges between people of different cultures. The Seminar provides a safe and inclusive environment where change-oriented women, Arab and Jewish alike, can get together, learn, exchange ideas, and build meaningful friendships. The seminar includes theoretical teaching alongside practical experience in fields such as; Introduction to Anthroposophy, Biography, Speech design, Painting, Music, Culture & Education, Sculpture, Drawing, etc. The seminar’s key achievement is its unparalleled ability to erase boundaries – rendering religion, gender, ethnicity irrelevant, becoming a microcosm of equality and freedom of creation for Israeli educators. The secret to the initiative`s effectiveness is its combined use of Arabic and Hebrew to convey complex educational doctrines. While Israel`s formal and informal educational systems take a generic approach towards all of its pupils regardless of language and cultural differences, the Seeds initiative offers multi-sector educational solutions, tailored to the specific needs of the various Arab and Jewish communities. The end goal of the Seeds Initiative is to harness these women’s skills and determination together with Rudolf Steiner`s groundbreaking educational approach. To enable them to become agents of change, creating a positive lasting impact on the lives and minds of as many children and families as possible. This way, we hope to create, for the first time within the Arab society, a real chance for equality and social mobility on a large scale. Giving a chance The Arab women participating in the program often come from difficult backgrounds - social-geographic periphery, large families, young age marriages and a male-dominated society where they are expected to provide for their families while remaining humble and obedient. The seminar provides a much-needed turning point for these women and their communities as a whole, however, the cost of tuition is a barrier for many of them wishing to participate. Seeds aims to achieve two main goals in its roadmap for change – First, to subsidize tuition for Arab women in the form of grants and scholarships. Second, to lay the groundwork for the establishment of an educational infrastructure, dedicated to achieving Seeds’ vision of a thriving, equal, Arab society, and a peaceful co-existence. In todays Israel Jews and Arabs coming together is unfortunately a rare sight - the seeds initiative is an investment in our children`s future. The best day to plant a tree is 20 years ago The seconed best day is today We invite you to support our cause and plant the “seeds” of change
