Male donation for half a shekel
Rabbi Chaim Pelagie wrote, "Everyone who gives half a shekel is assured that he is from the next world, and no bad harm will happen to him in that year, and even if a decree is issued against him or his family, it is revoked. And does not come to lack a pocket in that year… and he who perseveres in it every year will see seed and prolong life "
Why do you donate a "male for half a shekel"?
The commandment of half a shekel was to atone for the iniquities of the children of Israel, both for the poor and the rich for the same amount, to show that there are no class differences in the eyes of God.
Sages stated that half of the shekel should be given in the month of Adar in order to advance the contribution of Israel's shekels, to the shekels that the evil Haman wanted to give to Ahasuerus so that he could destroy the people of Israel.
Today we do not have the Temple, and we only have the custom of giving a male for half a shekel for atonement, and the great men of Israel determined that women can also donate a male for half a shekel and even the parents donate for the children.
The wording at the time of giving a male for half a shekel:
One should say 'male for half a shekel' and not say 'half a shekel' so that the money will not be considered as a dedication to the temple.

How many people give a "male for half a shekel" today?
In order to get out of the obligation of all opinions, the amount that needs to be donated is about 25.5 NIS for each member of the household, which is 9 grams of money, and it is worth noting the exact amount, but adding and donating each one according to his ability.
Why half a shekel?
The message is that each person is half, and without the help of the other he can not be whole and therefore the message of unity in the people must be strengthened.
Promise of Rabbi Chaim Pelagie
And Rabbi Chaim Pelagie wrote in the book Moed Lechol Chai
"Whoever gives half a shekel is assured that he is a member of the next world and no bad harm will happen to him in that year and even if a decree is issued against him or his family, it is revoked. And does not come to lack a pocket in that year and will be successful in all his deeds and will be loved up and nice down. And he that keepeth it every year shall see seed, and shall prolong his days. "
And he said this prayer before giving the donation:
The Lord of the world is visible and known to you that while the Temple existed, Israel gave each and every one half of the shekel in the month of Adar for the work of the Temple to atone for them. And now in our many iniquities the sword of the Temple and we can not keep this mitzvah of half a shekel. Therefore, may the Lord our God and the God of our fathers have before you this is the discourse of our lips that Korin Parshat half a shekel and give male money for half a shekel to charity. And it will appear before you as if we had observed the actual half-shekel mitzvah, it and all the mitzvot included in it in a supreme place.
