Swim 4 Afikim

In April and October I will be attempting two crossings of the Kinneret (sea of galilee), one the width (approximately 11km) and one the length (approximately 21km). About me: I have been swimming for 40 years on all levels. As a competitive swimmer and water-polo player until the age of 18 , as part of triathlon and iron men competitions I took part in and recreationally to keep up fitness and get away from the day to day stress we all are exposed to. I grew up near the world famous beaches of the Western Australia coast line, I spent nearly all my free time during the summer enjoying the water, learning, respecting and experiencing first hand the power and strength of the ocean. The covid restrictions bought me back to my true love and passion, open water swimming, it is in vast expanses of water that I feel the most comfortable, alive and free. This year I have decided that I want this love and passion to be available to those less fortunate. I am teaming up with the Afikim organization and the Israeli Surf Life Saving Association, two unbelievable non profits doing important work with underprivileged children and trying to eradicate the terrible drownings that Israel experiences every summer.
