Aviv for Holocaust Survivors

Aviv for Holocaust Survivors is the sole organization specializing in helping survivors exercise the rights and benefits attributed to them by the Israeli Finance Ministry, the German state, the Conference on Jewish Material Claims against Germany and other agencies – completely free of charge. Today, there are approximately 180,000 elderly Holocaust Survivors living in Israel, nearly a quarter of survivors live under the poverty line in dire conditions. An estimated 50% of them do NOT receive all the rights and benefits to which they are entitled. Scope of activity • A dedicated call center answering around 12,000 aid requests per year • 15 "Entitlement Centers”- individual and professional consulting centers for Holocaust survivors in local Municipalities. This unique project was initiated in cooperation with the JDC. • 8000 trained volunteers and professionals supporting and assisting survivors to exercise their rights and benefits • An informative Internet website, a monthly Rights-Newsletter and monthly radio programs providing important information and updates • Dedicated Rights Realization Days all over the country • Informative lectures on the subject of rights and benefits given to 10,000 Holocaust survivors All services given to survivors are completely free of charge- no commissions or “membership fee”. Aviv for Holocaust Survivors has so far helped over 70,000 Holocaust survivor, receive more than 600 million NIS (US$182 million),due to them by Israeli and German institutions.
