Metivta b'Rakia

The Metivta biRakia’s set goal is to foster, through meaningful and intellectually stimulating Torah, an Avodat Hashem-oriented virtual community for post-Gap year, College students. We began the Metivta BiRakia in 2018 when we noticed that many teens leave their Shanah Ba’aretz with a drive and desire to continue developing in their Talmud Torah and in their paths as Ovdey Hashem. Yet, when these students return to university, they find themselves without an adequate framework to enable them to continue their religious growth. This is especially true in campuses or cities with only a small number of these students, where one does not have the critical mass or resources necessary to organize a local shiur. So, we started the Metivta BiRakava as a way to use remote learning and Zoom shiurim to unify this group of students and create the critical mass needed to create a vibrant post-Israel learning community. Our Yeshiva in the cloud has reached across the globe to dozens of students in Israel, America, England, France, Germany, Australia, and South Africa. We currently offer a virtual Gmara B’iyun Track and Halacha B’iyun Track, and we are beginning a track in contemporary Jewish Philosophy this September. This coming year we will be partnering with the Virtual Beit Midrash of Yeshivat HarEtzion to help reach even more students.
