Yeshivat hesder neve dekakim (Yamit) was established in the city of Yamit in Sinai in the year of ((תשל"ו 5,736 (1976), with the aim of bringing the Torah spirit to the city and the entire Yamit region. Regretfully, after 6 years, the Yeshiva was uprooted, together with all the residents of the Yamit region, as part of the Peace Agreement which was signed with Egypt. The Yeshiva re-established its home in Neve Dekalim in Gush Katif. In the year of 5,765 תשס"ה (2005), the Yeshiva was uprooted yet again with all the residents of Gush Katif, and relocated its home base to the city of Ashdod. The Yeshiva serves as a central Torah studying center in Ashdod, and is active in three main areas – Torah, charity work (Hasadim) and activity for the benefit of Ashdod’s residents, in collaboration with the religious group (Garin torani) established by the Yeshiva.
