Ma’agalei Tsedek Circles of Justice

Ma’agalei Tsedek (Circles of Justice) "Ma’agalei Tsedek" promotes Jewish social discourse, with the aim of influencing the identity and values of the entire Israeli society. Ma’agalei Tsedek operated as a social initiative between 2004-2015, and strived for social justice and activism. Its main belief was that a just society should be the purpose and meaning of Israeli society, rooted in our collective Jewish values - of justice and social sensitivity. Ma’agalei Tsedek has revived in the past year, and after an intensive period of development is ready to execute and implement its program, presenting a new perspective on creating a network of young social leaders (Justice ambassadors) devoted to social responsibility, both locally in their communities and nationally. We believe in the power of young leadership to introduce impactful change and destine themselves to a future of social contribution. The organization works to expand public consciousness about social justice through conferences and lectures, publications and field activities. Its course of action is led by the ambassadors who, together, define collective goals and identify relevant communal development causes to promote, involving injustice, aid for the weak, equal opportunities in schools and labor market, etc. They monitor social diversity and diversity of opportunities in educational institutions in their communities. They promote social diversity and social sensitivity towards individuals. They inspect fair employment conditions of public employees and create content and community learning sessions to raise awareness and involvement. Ne’emanei Torah Va’Avodah coordinates Ma’agalei Tsedek’s activity, and provides young adults with tools and guidance. We aim to achieve a multifold goal by: 1. Creating a network and a solid leadership base of “Ambassadors of Justice” to unite under and promote collective as well as local social justice agendas 2. Forming an apparatus of social justice initiatives, led by young leaders of the network, which supports rights and justice. 3. Development of a Jewish social language through study and discourse (such as channelling Jewish fasts to social correction causes), philosophical writing on social issues such as poverty and equal opportunities
