Embracing the Bereaved Families

Make sure the families don't feel abandoned! Thousands of parent are part of Or Lamishpachot. Drawing strength and choosing life with our help. The "Or L'mishpachot" association supports and strengthens parents who have lost their children in the IDF since 2008 through meaningful and empowering experiences. The association created a revolution in Israel's bereavement perception, and as a result, received the President of Israel's Volunteer Award in 2013, the Sderot Conference Award in 2018, the Paul Harris Award for Contribution to Society in 2019, and the Begin Award for Outstanding Contribution to the People of Israel and Its Homeland in 2022. The association was founded by Irit Oren Gunders, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Military and Head of the Human Resources Branch in the Combat Engineering Corps, who is also the chairperson and CEO of the association. Irit works full-time from her home as a volunteer, and sees the association as her life's mission, with utmost importance in promoting and expanding it."
