SASA Setton is an educational and social organization dedicated to advancing education for hospitalized children in hospital schools across Israel. Founded in 2009 by Philippe (of blessed memory) and Hilda Setton, the organization's co-founders and honorary presidents, SASA Setton has been tirelessly working for 15 years to enhance the educational experience of approximately 140,000 hospitalized children each year. These children are cared for in 41 hospitals, including general, psychiatric, rehabilitative, and long-term care facilities.
The organization is committed to creating and developing innovative educational spaces tailored to the needs of hospitalized children. It also operates a comprehensive network of National Service volunteers, who play an integral role in its mission. Through its activities, SASA Setton manages three distinct educational programs, each tailored to different hospital settings: The Afternoon School in general hospitals, The School of Light in rehabilitative and long-term care facilities, and The School for Life in psychiatric hospitals. These efforts underscore the organization’s dedication to ensuring that all hospitalized children in Israel have access to quality education and an opportunity to thrive.
