For parents who find that their child is suffering from cancer or has some complex disability, it is an unbearable blow. As if at once the time just stops, and not only the time - the plans for the future, the aspirations, the dreams ... Everything freezing. But at this very moment, when they just want to break away and sink into despair, they are required to find within themselves strength for their loved ones. They have to deal with complex bureaucracies, with medical terms and procedures for the first time, with different emotions that float, and especially to convey to their child that everything is under control. But what if everything is not? What if they feel that everything collapsing and there is no one to help them? This is our part. Founded in 2006, "Lehoshit Yad" is focused on supporting and assisting children with cancer and children with complex disabilities, and accompanies them and their families in the relentless struggle against the disease and the new challenges it presents, challenges with health, economics and mental health. We are creating a variety of activities and content that uphold values like Joy of life, optimism and faith as a tool for coping with the daily complexity. The organization has an extensive network of National Service volunteers and other volunteers, who provide a daily response to hundreds of children in all the hospitals in Israel, in educational frameworks and in personal tutoring throughout the country on a regular weekly basis. Small part of the activities include funding for life saving treatments in Israel and abroad, purchase of medical equipment, transportation for treatment, family vacationers, summer camps, dream fulfillment trips, financial support for families, fun days for children and parents, and creating a wide range of experiences deeply rooted in the heart of the children and their families. To date, the association has extended its support to thousands of sick children and their families. Thanks to you, we will be able to expand the circle of support and to help hundreds more, helping hundreds small heroes defeat the disease!
