Yachad B’Tikvah infuses people with the strength to cope and be happy!‏ • Activities of the organization: • Medical counseling and direction to medical specialists • Participation in the purchase of medications and in special medical treatments • Rehabilitation of families in distress • Food baskets for the needy • Supportive hand for orphans and widows The Yachad B’Tikvah chesed organization was established with the clear purpose of helping the ill and their families, large families, the needy, the handicapped and families with financial troubles. Yachad B’Tikvah extends a “golden rod” of help in morale, substance and basic existence to the ill and needy and it provides for all of the needs necessary during times of trouble. This includes individual medical counseling for the patient and his family members, directing them to medical specialists and continuous help until the patient’s recovery. This help is like a ray of hope in the darkness surrounding the patient and his family. It also includes the lending out of advanced medical equipment for those in need at no charge; the distribution of food products, clothing, shoes and financial support for large families and for families with financial problems; shows and evening events to cheer up the ill and the depressed; participation in the costs of special medical treatments; and activities, initiatives and enterprises to help the needy. Yachad B’Tikvah provides mental support, warmth and true confidence during times of crisis. These cannot be bought for any amount of money, no matter how rich a person may be. The volunteers of Yachad B’Tikvah are partners in the difficult tasks of making conversation with an emotionally disturbed young man, nursing someone stricken with multiple sclerosis, escorting the skeleton of a man to chemotherapy treatments, helping a victim of Parkinson’s disease, picking up a package of moldy laundry from a family whose mother is not functioning and listening to the cries of a father or mother who do not have the means of feeding their children. Unfortunately, these are tasks that are done daily to hundreds of people. There are many problems amongst us. Many concealed partners navigate the “ship of mercy” that we run – and they are you and other friends who contribute towards the maintenance and expansion of this great chesed enterprise.
