Yeshivat Siach Yitzchak

Yeshivat Siach Yitzchak was established in Elul 5756 (1996) by Rav Shagar (Shimon Gershon Rosenberg) of blessed memory and was distinguished by Rabbi Yair Dreifuss, who heads the yeshiva to this day. In Sivan 5759 (1999), the yeshiva moved from Jerusalem to Giv’at Hadagan in Efrat, and in 5778 (2018), it moved to its permanent home on Giv’at Hadagan’s southern hills. The yeshiva is named after Rabbi Dr. Yitzchak Breur z"l ,a prominent Jewish leader in Germany and Eretz Israel during the early 20th century. The yeshiva is led by Rabbi Yair Dreifuss, Rabbi Dr. Noam Samet, and Rabbi Dr. Ori Lifshitz. Its staff includes Rabbi Dr. Eitan Abramovich, Rabbi Elchanan Nir, Rabbi Achiya Sandowsky, and Rabbi Benaya Yanai. Rabbi Eli Lerea, Dr. Zohar Maor, and Dr. Avishar Har-Shefi regularly teach at the yeshiva as well. Yeshivat Siach Yitzchak is a hesder yeshiva with about 60 students, who are given the option of choosing to serve in various military tracks. Our Beit Midrash offers programs for military veterans aimed at nurturing a new generation of Torah scholars – educators, community rabbis, and spiritual leaders. Yeshivat Siach Yitzchak sees its main goal as deepening religious discourse, with a view of the importance and the challenge of recreating the image of a “ben Torah” to suit our times. Against the backdrop of rapid changes happening in the cultural and spiritual spheres within the Jewish people and for humanity in general, the yeshiva strives to reinvigorate religious language in a way that will enable the cultivation of “bnei Torah” whose hearts seek devotion, who are deeply-rooted in the traditional world of the Beit Midrash, and who also turn to the Israel and global cultural sphere. Our Beit Midrash is weaving a new, mature discourse characterized by open and honest spiritual language, which strives or devotion and service of G-d from a place of joy and of expanding heart and mind. Our students are invited into a deep and creative partnership wherein the soul can reach out from a place of freedom.
