The Jerusalem Mental Health Center provides services to the population of all Jerusalem District: Jerusalem , Beit Shemesh, Mevasseret-Etzion, Maale Adumim
The center is one of the 3 largest Psychiatric Centers in Israel,
And provides treatment to Mental disorders for all ages groups
The Hospitals of the center (Eitanim and Kfar Shaul) include 333 beds and 10 community clinics.
In addition the Center includes the National Department for Autistic Adults.
In the past there were two associations (The Eitanim Association and the Kfar Shaul Association)
In 2006 the associations were merged to create The Association of Friends of the Jerusalem Mental Health Center headed Dr. Yaakov Lerner.
Currently Yoav Kfir (accountant and business man)is the chairman of the association
And has been involved in the association in the past decade.
The members of the Association work voluntarily and primarily do fundraising for the welfare of the Patients
The association support project and other activities To enhance the staff services
The association support at the maintenance of small zoo and the swimming pool that associated to the the Children’s department.
The Association supporting steadily at the Activities and classes at all of the Hospital Departments At all ages groups.
Recently the Association built a climbing wall
Future Projects include:
building a playground for the Children’s Department,
designing safety equipment for the Psychogeriatric Departments
The Association has plans to fund a shuttle for patients' families to Eitanim, and a variety of activities for patients
