The Jerusalem Variety Center

The Jerusalem Variety Center serves as a warm home for children with special needs. The center is a unique institution, which provides a variety of services for children with physical and intellectual disabilities and enables each child to fulfill his abilities and talents to their fullest, providing him the tools to being a meaningful part of society, as much as possible. The center serves about 700 children per year, (about 500 children each week), who participate in the different activities that take place in the center.The center aims to provide equal opportunities through educational and social activities and through financial support.The center views its activity as a social mission, and all who take part do so in a dedicated, efficient, and professional manner to promote the center's goals.The Jerusalem Variety Center is unique in that hundreds of children from Jerusalem and the surrounding area participate in educational, extra-curricular, and therapeutic activities under one roof. The center serves children with special needs from the age of one year, to 21 years, in joint social, educational, and meaningful experiences with regular children who come from all sectors of the Israeli society: religious, secular, Arab, and Jewish. The center operates three major units: day-care and kindergarten classes for special need as well as general education children, extra-curricular programs for children from different special need schools throughout the city, and a developmental unit for autistic children.
