The Umm El-Fahem Museum of Art, operated by the Al-Sabar Association, was founded in 1996 as an art gallery through a local initiative by cultural and intellectual figures from Umm El-Fahem and the Wadi Ara region. Its mission was to bring high-quality contemporary art to the region and its communities, to promote and research Palestinian and Arab art in Israel, and to create a space for encounter and dialogue through art.

Over the course of three decades, the institution has evolved from a local gallery into a leading cultural and artistic institution, presenting exhibitions by local and international artists, supporting and nurturing artists, operating educational and community programs, collecting and preserving works of art, and carrying out research, documentation, and archival activities. In 2024, the institution was officially recognized as a museum by the Ministry of Culture and Sport, becoming the first Arab art museum in Israel.

The Museum attracts diverse audiences from across the country and serves as a meeting place for artists, researchers, cultural professionals, and different communities. Alongside presenting Palestinian, local, and international art, it works to promote intercultural dialogue, collaborative creation, and greater mutual understanding between Arab and Jewish society in Israel.
