our brothers

The "Our Brothers" (HaAchim Shelanu) non-profit organization was established in 2017 by Elyasaf Peretz, Noy Peri, and a group of bereaved siblings. The organization accompanies and supports bereaved brothers and sisters of fallen soldiers of the Israel Defense Forces, the security services, and victims of hostile actions. "Our Brothers" is the only non-profit organization in Israel specializing exclusively in working with this target community.

Today, the organization serves as a home and an equal-peer community for approximately 45,000 brothers and sisters.

The organization operates along three central pillars:
Developing personal and group resilience, Building a supportive community and Fostering commemoration initiatives that share the stories of the fallen through the eyes of their siblings.

We operate through broad partnerships with government ministries, local authorities, community organizations, and professional non-profits in the fields of bereavement and therapy to ensure an extensive, precise response for Israel's community of bereaved siblings. We are here to provide an encompassing sense of belonging and support in coping with complex bereavement, both in routine times and during periods of war.

"Our Brothers" serves as a home, an anchor, and a professional address for bereaved siblings. We accompany them from pain to growth, from memory to renewed meaning, and foster resilience and tools for coping with loss out of a profound commitment to the value of "Choose Life."

The organization strives to create a mindset shift that will guarantee full recognition of the rights of bereaved brothers and sisters, offering accessible, relevant avenues for action and commemoration. "Our Brothers" is an open door and a hub for partnerships, bridging the inner world of brothers and sisters with a broad, embracing community.

"For as often as I speak of him, I do earnestly remember him still." (Jeremiah 31:20)
