Israel Center on Addiction & Mental Health

The Israel Center on Addiction (ICA) was established in order to advance the field of addiction in Israel at the national level. It is a multidisciplinary center of excellence that aims to advance addiction treatment, prevention, training and policy. Addiction is one of the most common health disorders in the world, causing significant physical and mental harm, including increased mortality, and is a considerable financial burden. In Israel, hundreds of thousands of men, women and adolescents suffer from addiction, across all demographic and socio-economic sectors. In order to address this public health issue, the ICA runs a prevention program in schools across Israel, works to raise awareness and promote public policy on treatment, conducts wide-ranging research, and trains professionals in the fields of medicine, mental health and education.
