About 8 years ago, Israel Prize Winner, Rabbi Yitzchak David Grossman, established Kfar Zoharim near Beit Guvrin.
The Zoharim Youth Village is a unique and groundbreaking project in Israel, which is the first youth village for at-risk youth.
The village is intended for youth from the ultra-Orthodox sector who have dropped out for various reasons from the educational frameworks of this community and as a result have experienced alienation and exclusion from their families and community
And found themselves literally living on the street.
The Zoharim youth village provides a comprehensive and systematic response to the consistent increase in the number of youth living in at-risk conditions in ultra-Orthodox society, cut off from family or community backgrounds.
This is a comprehensive, supportive and empowering framework, which includes high-level theoretical and professional studies, preparation for meaningful service in the IDF (91% of the village's graduates enlist in combat units and significant service in the IDF!)
and leisure and enrichment activities, in full boarding school conditions and with an emphasis on personal contact with trained instructors.
Educationally, the village includes a boarding school format that combines theoretical studies leading to further higher education, with professional training, emotional and emotional support (90% of the village's graduates successfully complete their studies in the full matriculation track!).
The Youth Village works with the support and supervision of the Ministry of Education, in its way of giving the youth the opportunity to become independent and productive graduates in Israel.
