The Sikui association that leads projects to commemorate the Staff Sergeant Liel Gideoni who was killed in Operation "Tzuk Eitan" whose main goals are: care for dropout youth, accompanying and empowering at-risk boys, animal care, drug and alcohol rehab, preparation for meaningful service in the IDF, settlement of land Israel by agriculture and Zionism.
The association operates the "Liel Preparatory School" (which was founded by the Staff Sgt. Lial Gideoni's team mate) and operates in the Jordan Valley - Gadi Camp, a unique pre-military, educational-therapeutic "Spark" training school in its field that addresses young people between the defined ages of 18-20 In risk situations with a background of dropping out of settings, a past of drug and/or alcohol addictions and a criminal record.
The preparatory school was established and has been operating for about 7 years since 2016, with more then 100 graduates so far who have enlisted for significant service in the IDF, and we also continue to accompany the graduates and make sure they stay on track.
The preparatory school serves as a therapeutic rehabilitation anchor which is a springboard for the trainees to return to the normative track, their recruitment to the IDF and meaningful service, sharpening their Jewish identity and preparing them for a life in which they will be useful citizens and benefactors to their family and their environment and thereby turn from "risk-to-opportunity".
The association's vision is to continue working for the population of young people in risk situations and to establish additional projects on their behalf - the "Transitional Apartment" project for dropout and disconnected youth and the "Preparation for Life" project, a preparation for young people after military/national service that provides tools and occupational training.
