In 2005 a group of parents of children with special needs in Israel founded the association “Yad LaYeled HaMeyuchad”. These parents knew first-hand all the challenges a family faces when raising a child with special needs; so they decided to create the ultimate location which would combine all resources, guidance and additional resources; making them available for other parents all over the country. The association “Yad LaYeled HaMeyuchad” offers a variety of projects providing services and alternatives for children with special needs; as well as their parents and the members of their families. In what is now a nationwide network, thousands of male and female volunteers are at the disposal of children and adults with disabilities. They help them to achieve clear goals which improve their quality of life, give them a dimension of momentum and growth, and bring them to independence where they can actively participate in community life, and integrate into society. The “Yad LaYeled HaMeyuchad” association serves as a safe place for those children and adults, their family members and others interested in assisting in this important integration into Israeli society. Thousands of families from all sectors and communities in Israel enjoy the close and strong connection with the association.
