The Aderet Pre-Army Network (Mechina) is an educational space and Israeli beth midrash which develops young and diverse groups of individuals for leadership with a sense of mission and responsibility for the State of Israel, Israeli society and the Jewish people. The Mechina advances and promotes Jewish religious education, values and beliefs. Within its walls, religious and secular students study and discuss Judaism, Zionism and broader issues of heritage, history, culture and leadership with the aim of developing them to be the next generation of leaders committed to the State of Israel, its people, and influence wider circles in Israeli society to create social culture and cohesion.
Out of a commitment to build a model society, the Mechina’s modus operandi is to establish its branches within youth villages for at-risk children, collaborating educationally with the leadership of the villages and the educational teams. The youth villages, which are on the periphery of education in the State of Israel, face many challenges and are thus an important platform for social action and engagement. The collaboration creates an educational space for the growth of national leadership in Israeli society and works to advance it. The trainees of the Mechina take with them the essential message of the Jewish Zionist beth midrash where they study, and are involved in a crucial way in the children's education and are a role model for them. The collaboration aims to strengthen the youth villages and the Mechina’s trainees, and be a pivotal launchpad for the initiation of new circles of young people with values and leadership abilities into the educational process.
