With the start of the Iron Swords War, the Midrash of the South mobilized to help families from around the Gaza Strip, and accommodate them in the hostel operated by the Midrash in Neta Yishuv. The residents of the Otef who came to the seminary suffered missile attacks, terrorist infiltrations and other difficult experiences (some of them without medical equipment at home). The hospitality included accommodation, meals, help from social workers and social activities.
