Shalem College, an elite institution of higher education based in Jerusalem, exists to provide exceptional young Israelis with the intellectual, cultural, and ethical formation they need, as human beings and as citizens, to live worthy and purposeful lives and to advance the flourishing of the State of Israel.
With fewer than 1,000 individuals in the economic, political, cultural, educational, diplomatic, intellectual, nonprofit, and media leadership of the country, it is possible to radically alter the future direction of the state by cultivating a small cadre of elite young Israelis schooled in the Western, Jewish and Zionist traditions, and deeply committed to service and the values on which their country was founded. Cultivating this leadership class is Shalem’s raison d’etre, and with what will soon be 100 graduates each year, achieving this goal is eminently possible.
