The National Institute of Neuropsychological Rehabilitation in Israel specializes in social and psychological rehabilitation following major trauma. In the wake of the October 7th Hamas attack, we seek to scale up our services, particularly in the southern and northern periphery, two of the most active frontlines during the war. We must prepare for the immediate and long-term rehabilitation needs of thousands of civilians and soldiers due to the high levels of national trauma and complex injuries. Our urgent action will include the following:
1. Establishing a rehabilitation center in southern Israel for treating the civilian population that was directly affected by mass trauma.
2. Expanding rehabilitation response in our branches in Haifa and Galilee by opening more treatment rooms and hiring and training new staff.
3. Conducting development training in trauma response for the rehabilitation professionals employed in all 6 of our service centers.
4. Developing a holistic recovery program for people who sustained physical and/or psychological injuries during the war.
5. The "Families Hugging" Project offers therapeutic and rehabilitative programs to displaced residents.
