Al-Baqour

Following Hamas’s brutal attack, the Al-Baqour association - which normally works to build and maintain libraries for children within the Bedouin community of the Negev - has been urgently working to aid the Bedouin community that has suffered tremendously from heavy missile barrages, dozens of casualties and wounded (many of them in the rescue operations in Reim), some of them children. The vast majority of Bedouins have no safe spaces or shelters, as they live in tents and temporary/improvised residence, and lack minimal protections. They struggle with severe anxiety and have no tools to cope with the impossible situation around them. To help the community cope with these challenging times, we have begun assisting mothers by providing them with mental support, mitigation and well-being activities. We employ quality professionals who are working to acquire toys, games and children’s books, as well as increase our digital activity.
