Kehilat B'Orcha Yerushalaim

Kehilat B'Orcha Yerushalaim is a community in the Mekor Chaim neighborhood in Jerusalem whose members strive to create an ideal community based on the values of Religious Zionism. Its main -- but not only -- function is to conduct religous services on Shabbatot and Jewish Holidays. Although there are members of the community of all ages, the leading force is made up of young families . Virtually all the men have served in the IDF and the women have done either "Sherut Leumi" or have served in the IDF. The tone is set by graduates of yeshivot hesder communities so that there is a strong emphasis on Torah study and the prayer services -- although enriched by a great deal of singing -- are more serious than one finds in most synagogues. In addition, the community is active in communal and individual acts of Chessed, and in value-oriented programs for children
