Lend a hand to those who give wholeheartedly. Residents of Hebron, Kiryat Arba and Mount Hebron communities are courageously sustaining their everyday lives, while enduring continuous security threats. Indeed, children living in a reality infused with anxiety are deeply affected, which adds on to the challenges they already face as children growing up in a modern Western society. In order to assist the children of Kiryat Arba in facing these challenges, we have established an Emotional Therapy Clinique. The Clinique provides a shoulder for them to lean on, and to help carry the heavy burden they bear. It provides them with tools that convert the bitter into sweet, and empowers and strengthens their resilience in the face of complex realities. The "Kinyan Torah" NGO decided to take on this project by establishing "The M.H.R Center – The Center for Emotional Empowerment", which complements communal psychological services, and serves as a link between the professional staff and the teaching staff in educational institutions. The center is being built within the Talmud Torah compound and is accessible to all children in the area. The M.H.R center employs professional therapists, who provide therapeutic services in a wide range of fields, such as music, animals, art, guided imagery and coaching, and who treat learning disabilities, ADHD and more. The center is continuing to develop a treatment program that is customized to meet the individual needs of each student. Following only a handful of treatment sessions, we are already witness to exciting and welcome results– children are instilled with hope and optimism, smiling with high spirits, and demonstrating improved academic achievements, vitality and motivation. The professional and highly experienced staff members of the M.H.R center provide psychotherapeutic treatments for children in a range of fields, as listed below: Music Therapy – lead by therapist Yael Aviram (M.A in music studies) Music therapy touches the deepest cords of a child's soul, thereby providing an outlet to upsetting feelings. Music therapy enables children to communicate and open up to the therapist, give expression to traumas from the past in a non-verbal way, and create a new melody for healing and recovery. The therapy sessions incorporate musical instruments, various tempos, listening to favorite and popular songs that give voice to the child's inner world, which then assists in overcoming fears. Art Therapy – lead by certified therapist Noa Baruch Art therapy is an emotional process in which children engage art in a way that helps them connect with themselves and their innermost feelings. As the therapist facilitates the development of each work of art, children receive powerful empowering tools, providing them with inner strength and a capacity to cope with life outside the therapy room's walls. Children are granted a personal setting in which to express themselves freely, accompanied by a supporting interpersonal relationship, which are key elements in enabling children to experience a calm and peaceful life. Group Psychodrama, facilitated by therapist Michal Ledarer (M.A in Psychodrama Group Intervention) Psychodrama provides a unique opportunity to get to know individuals and groups, act out life scenarios, and connect between different worlds. It enables renewal and healing by changing one's perspective on events, as well as initiating and designing happy endings. Children are given the platform to express their feelings by acting out various roles in different styles, such as harsh, cold or angry, and adapting those roles to gentler and warmer characters, which in turn fosters their inner growth. Treating ADHD with therapist Malka Aderi Children suffering from ADHD or other emotional challenges respond more severely to stressful environments and realities, and find it hard to adapt to and accept certain situations. The department devoted specifically to treating and training children with ADHD enhances their self awareness to the advantages and challenges they face and teaches them how to let go of negative and aggravating thoughts, manage their time effectively, develop means with which to control anger and impulsive behavior along with therapeutic and medical treatment if and when necessary. Children gradually show signs of improvement– their attention span improves, social problems are solves and they find emotional balance, which benefits the children, as well as their parents. Treating social communication difficulties with therapist Dror Avraham (M.A in Educational Consulting) Sessions that treat social communication difficulties are held with individuals and groups of children, who have a hard time forming normal social relationships, as a result of emotional problems, complex realities, anxieties or adapting difficulties. The sessions focus on finding the positive strengths and forces within each child and providing practical ways in which to demonstrate them within familial, social and personal settings. The therapy sessions include powerful experiential meetings that develop children's resilience and ability to withstand various hardships. Running the M.H.R Center is very costly. The operation is funded entirely by the Kinyan Torah NGO, without government support. As loyal neighbors and partners, we bear witness and recognize the great importance of continuing the activities provided by the center. These activities help rehabilitate and support children, who are living under constant threat and complex realities. We are certain you will not remain indifferent to the challenges faced by the children of Kiryat Arba and Mount Hebron, and that you will generously contribute to the continued work of this exceptional center, which generates new life and joy precisely where our enemies seek to take lives and spread fear. Any and all contributions will be greatly appreciated. Through your contribution you will become an active partner in this non-profit settlement operation and enable its remarkable results, which are truly priceless.
