Gil-Ad is a public non-profit organization, which opened its doors in 1987 for the purpose of providing services to the elderly residents of the municipalities of Ramat-Gan, Givatayim, Kiryat Ono and Savyon.
This non-profit organization established a Geriatric Center in some of the old buildings that were located on the grounds of the Sheba Medical Center. These buildings were then renovated to suit the needs of the elderly. The Center was established with the cooperation of Eshel, “the Israel Association for the Development of Services for the aged”, originally founded by the “Joint” and the local authorities, whose citizens are served by Gil-Ad.
Today, Gil-Ad provides services to 220 elderly residents in 6 separate departments: assisted living, nursing care, handicapped and psycho-geriatric care.
