ZIV Medical Center: The Hospital on Israel’s Northern Borders In the picturesque landscapes of the Galilee and Golan, a mere stone's throw from Hezbollah in Lebanon and the looming threats from Syria, stands ZIV - a testament to Israel's indomitable spirit and commitment to life. Join with us and become a partner in this mission.  ZIV: A Medical Center at War Perched next to Israel’s borders with Lebanon and Syria, in times of conflict ZIV becomes a vital part of the country’s medical infrastructure. Recently designated as a Level 1 Trauma Center we are scrambling to build new surgical units and increase missile protection across all of our facilities.  To be ready to treat wounded soldiers, civilians and displaced peoples, as well as maintain the medical center’s normal operations, we need your help.  New Neurosurgery Unit To be ready to treat the wounded in anticipated conflicts, ZIV needs to rapidly develop a neurosurgery unit. These units treat critical head wounds and other cranial injuries. With injuries such as these, every second counts so developing this capacity at ZIV, right next to the frontlines could mean the difference between life and death. In normal routine times the Neurosurgery unit will make a profound impact on the local community – with the capacity to treat all types of malignancies, the unit will help local families and residents with complex medical procedures that currently require difficult and complicated travel arrangements to the center of the country.  New Thoracic Surgery Unit As part of the upgrade to a Trauma 1 Center, ZIV needs to rapidly develop a Thoracic Surgery unit. This unit will treat serious upper chest wounds to the lung and heart areas. In addition, during routine times this will enable ZIV to treat many different issues including lung cancers – Israel’s leading cancer in men.  New Defence and Missile Protection Upgrades To protect our patients from incoming missile and rocket attacks ZIV requires numerous upgrades including: • Shielded and concrete-reinforced beds • Shielding and reinforcements to the ER entrances • Shielded and concrete-reinforced operating theatres ZIV: Treating Everyone in Need during War or Peace Whether an Israeli soldier, an innocent child, or even those termed as foes, our doors and our hearts, always remain open. ZIV stands not only as a hospital, but as a beacon of Israel's resilience and fundamental values. We remember, with pride and pain, our service during the second Lebanon war. Even as missiles rained down and one struck our very foundation, we tended to over 1500 wounded souls. And today, as history seems to repeat itself with rockets from Hezbollah raining down across Northern Israel, our resolve remains unshaken.
