Aid for babies

Recent data indicates that there are currently around 26,000 hungry infants in Israel under the age of one. These are infants whose mothers may steal food from the supermarket (whether formula or baby food) or, alternatively, compromise the development of their child by depriving them, leading to cognitive and physical damage. These are infants whose cries for food go unheard, and for them, food is life. We are here to save them from physical, emotional, and mental harm caused by a lack of nutrition. Our goal this year is to adopt and save at least 500 hungry infants every month. Together, we will ensure that no infant goes hungry. We receive hundreds of calls daily from single mothers and families in difficult economic situations. They all have one simple request – food for their babies, formula, or a milk substitute. Everyone wants nutritional security. They tell us about the necessity to dilute food due to severe shortages, and some are forced to steal food for their infants from supermarkets to save them from hunger. Why is this period crucial? It is a time of emotional and physical development, including the immune system and other bodily systems. There are no "second chances" during this period. The development of each system in the body is a carefully timed process, where each stage needs to occur correctly so that the subsequent stages can unfold properly. Therefore, these are critical windows of opportunity, and if the necessary conditions are met, development will be normal – physically, cognitively, and emotionally. Nutritional deficiencies and a lack of nutritional security adversely affect proper development. Every baby deserves a future filled with hope and health.
