Giving light to Kalderon family

“I have never felt such fear, deathly fear" Since October 7th, time has stood still for the Kalderon family. At 6:30 am, the family members woke up to the sound of the rocket barrage along with all the residents of the surrounding area. When gunshots began to be heard in the kibbutz, Ofer, Sahar and Erez tried to escape through the window of the bomb shelter and hid in the bushes as they witnessed for almost an hour the horrors taking place in the kibbutz. They were caught by Hamas terrorists and kidnapped to Gaza, while the Calderon house was set on fire and burned to the ground. For almost two months, mother Hadas and brothers Gaya and Rotem fought to return the children and Ofer home while they were anxious for their fate. After 52 days of captivity, hunger and unceasing evil, Sahar and Erez were released and returned to their family, but Ofer, the father of the family, remains in captivity. The family members and especially the two children who returned from captivity suffer from trauma, insomnia and anxiety attacks and care deeply for their captive father. The restoration process is expected to be long and complex. Their house was destroyed, their possessions burned and the mental rehabilitation process will be very long. All of this is while Ofer is still a prisoner in Hamas captivity. In order to try and support the beloved Calderon family, family members and friends decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign in order to start the process of rehabilitation and rebuilding their lives. We invite you to join us and take part. Together we will all be part of the revival of this beloved family.
