Support the Children of Schneider

ever since the morning of October 7th, Schneider Pediatric Center operates in an emergency mode for the children who went through the infernal events on that Black Shabbat, for the children who were evacuated from their homes and for all the children of Israel. Since Saturday 25.11, we are experiencing in Schneider one of the most exciting and foundational events that our country has known since its establishment - the beginning of the release of the abductees from Gaza and the arrival of boys and girls with their mothers for examinations, medical and emotional care. The children and their family members are staying in a dedicated and separate department, which was opened especially for them, in the new glass building of the Schneider Center. The new department is spacious and with the most adapted and pleasant hospitalization conditions for children. Each family is treated in a separate room or two that allow maximum privacy. * From the beginning of the war, pediatric intensive care units and cardiac intensive care units were transferred to the protected wards, the transfer of the premature babies unit to the new protected ward was brought forward, and the dialysis unit was transferred to a fully protected unit. * At the same time, we established three emergency clinics in order to provide service for the ongoing crisis: • A children's clinic in Eilat, where senior doctors and nurses from Schneider were recruited, for the evacuees staying in Eilat from all the health funds. • An emergency unit for psychological assistance, which is managed by trauma specialists, providing a comprehensive and immediate response to children and adolescents. • The psychological medicine team and Schneider's legal team support the children and families who survived the inferno, hoping to give them the tools to help them cope, overcome and move on with their lives. * Children in need of urgent care are referred from the southern hospitals to us, and we accept every request with the aim of providing proper and optimal care to every child, regardless of who they are. * The need for a comprehensive response in times of emergency and war has become immediate, therefore we are preparing for a comprehensive mobilization of resources that will allow us to build two operating rooms in the protected space in the new glass building.
