Starting Anew - Supporting the Rosenfeld family and the twins

Donors: 580

The Rosenfelds from Kibbutz Kfar Aza, for its 5 families, will never be the same again. The horrific attack on the morning of October 7, when Hamas terrorists infiltrated the kibbutz, broke into their homes, and murdered Hadar and Itay and many other members of their community, has changed their lives forever.   We are friends of the family, have come together to help them start anew. We cannot turn back the wheel or lift their pain, but together we hope to assist them - all five families, in the process of rebuilding their lives. Please join our efforts. The extended Rosenfeld family, all 21 members, lived together in the Kibbutz: the parents, six brothers and sisters with their spouses, and nine grandchildren. During the long hours of the massacre in the kibbutz, the family gradually lost connection with one another; Early in the morning, Hadar and Itay were the first to lose contact and stopped responding to the family’s text messages. After many nerve-wracking hours, with the rest of the family still besieged in the shelters, they received the horrific news that Hadar and Itay had been murdered and their 10-month-old twins, were left alone. The terrorists left the crying twins as bait in their beds and set up an ambush for anyone trying to save them. It was only 14 hours later that the twin babies were rescued by the Army Special Forces. Hadar and Itay were part of the large Rosenfeld family, three generations who lived as a close-knit clan in a small family plot of paradise — "the Rosenfeld clan", in Kibbutz Kfar Aza. Towards evening, the parents also lost contact with other family members: Ofir and Tom and their three children, Lital and Nir and their three children and Dvir and Maya and their baby boy. Only after 30 hours of hell, without food, water, or electricity and without knowing if and who survived, they were rescued, evacuated and reunited. The family members who survived the horror of October 7th were uprooted from their homes with only the clothes they were wearing that day. The kibbutz became a battlefield. The Rosenfeld family's piece of paradise has been shattered. Today they are refugees in their own country, without any remnants from their previous lives.   Now they have to start anew. Start over as a loving and embracing family, try to collect the fragments of their previous lives and create a new and better reality for the children, for the grandchildren, for the twins.   Those who know the family know that they don’t feel comfortable asking for help, and are still grieving over the enormous disaster that has befallen them. That's why we are rallying up, to help them start over, togather.   We won't be able to turn back the wheel of time, but our goal is to try and make the process of rebuilding their lives easier for them, together. We will not let terror win! Donations are tax deductible in Israel (section 46) and the USA (501(c)(3)), The UK and Canada.
